I need to Sleep

Another night I can't sleep My eyelids begging to caress My mind on another line. Iv been sober for a few months. Thought of life keeps me up Shadows of my past scare me, Memories of laughter keep me afloat, Dreams of a better tomorrow keep me Thinking of a time that hasn't happend yet. I reach my hand out to grab the dream But it's just a marage So all I grab is the weed smoke I crave. With the image of a better life. I need to sleep But when my eyes close All that happens is A long blink. Just closing my eyes and laying down, Doesn't do anything but keep The silence of night Screaming as quiet as can be, It's truly deafening. I need to sleep -Penguin
