I NAMED HER PUZZLE
She was never mine to hold, Yet never let me become someone new. She stole my peace like a thief at night, But she’s the only calm I ever knew. She’s the fire behind my rage, And still, the silence in my soul. She haunts the worst of all my dreams, Yet makes the good ones feel whole. She’s the memory I wish to forget, And the one I’ll cherish till the end. She built dreams with soft-spoken lies, Then watched them break, but didn’t bend. She whispers love with careful lips, But never reached out to stay. She knows the weight of what she's done, Yet does it anyway. She shows me futures laced with hope, Then leaves me drowning in the past. She acts as though I’m all she needs, But runs when I hold her fast. And so each night, I sit alone, With thoughts too loud to hide— Is it love or just her hormones? A truth she won’t confide. She is the mystery, the aching game, The question with no name… And I’m the fool who tried to win At something no one could ever claim. By - INDIGO RAIN
