I, My Enemy
A war internal Waged on and on I will never win If it is me My target's on Cut my teeth On the world, not myself Those bites heal slow And cut right to my soul So my mind, A sacred temple To the world A canvas of chaos Peace with these two Is my place to be found Not fighting myself In circles leading round I cannot move upward When I drag myself down Into depths of despair And sadness profound Aim true, and aim high Towards an end I believe in So when the time's to strike I'm not hit with my own poison
