I met my younger self
I Met with My Younger Self I stepped into the past, a peculiar sight Met my younger self, with eyes so bright The same smile, the same laugh, the same gaze But with dreams and doubts in a youthful daze I looked at my younger self with a knowing glance Saw the struggles, the fears, the uncertain dance I wanted to warn, to guide, to advise But would my words be heard, or just dismissed with a sigh? I said, Dear me, don't be afraid Life's journey's long, with twists and turns displayed You'll face challenges, you'll stumble and fall But don't lose faith, for you'll rise after all She looked up, with curiosity Who are you? She asked, What's your story unseen? I shared my experiences, the triumphs and strife The lessons learned, the wisdom gained in life I told her of passions, of dreams yet to chase Of friendships to forge, of love yet to embrace Of failures and successes, of trials Of growing, learning, and shining with all their light She listened, with ears so wide Sinking in the words, the wisdom inside A spark ignited, a fire began to glow A sense of hope, a sense of purpose to know As I stood there, in the past's embrace I realized that life's journey's a winding pace. And I hope we'll meet again someday.
