I met a boy
I met a boy the other day, He reminded me of you. He has the biggest of smiles, His eyes, ocean blue. I met a boy. Those words hang in my mind. I let the thought sink, Someone like him is hard to find. I met a boy, His hair's golden, like the sun And he doesn't play with my feelings, Just for fun. He always leaves me breathless, Unsure what to say. If you were a flower, He'd be a bouquet. His words are gentle like a poem, Sweet, yet meaningful And his eyes shine bright with stars. I met a boy the other day, One who holds the door as I walk through One who shares my love of foxes, And loves the colour blue. I met a boy; One who sings softly to me. And writes songs on his guitar, As he sits on the swing. I met a boy who love to stargaze, He loves every sunset, too; And, now that I think of it, He's nothing like you. He loves picnics at dawn, And sitting on the beach. As we look out the window, He's staring right at me. And he sees everything in me That you've never tried to see. Only now do you think "That could have been me" But you blew it. You wanted a doll, I wanted the world You wanted a girl I wanted to twirl. I was just a toy. So instead, I met a boy.
