I loved and lost
I gave my heart to someone who said he’d stay, But he left without warning, slipping away. He fought silent battles I couldn’t see, And when he disappeared, he took part of me. I kept hoping, kept waiting for a sign, Wondering if love was ever truly mine. I asked myself if I could’ve done more, If I was the reason he walked out the door. Then came another with promises sweet, Words that made my broken heart beat. He painted futures I held so tight, But he vanished deep into the night. No goodbye, no reason why—just silence instead, Leaving me tangled in pain and dread. I gave all I had, my trust, my soul, But what I got back was a hollow hole. Now I’m left with echoes and empty space, Two loves that left without a trace. I’m lost, I’m hurt, I’m trying to heal— But some wounds just won’t let me feel. I’m just a girl with a heart too wide, Trying to find peace I can’t seem to hide. But even broken, I’m still here, Still breathing through every tear.
