"I Love Calling You Cockroach"
I called you Moonlight, soft and rare, When shadows danced in your midnight hair. You smiled like dawn, and I believed— That even broken hearts could breathe. I called you Little Flame, so bright, When your laughter lit my coldest night. You never knew the names I gave— Were prayers I whispered just to stay brave. I called you Starlight, far above, Each name a chapter of my love. But stars don’t stay — they fade and fall, And now I barely breathe at all. I loved you deep, without a doubt, When silence grew where words ran out. You left, but still, I softly speak Your name in tears, night after week. You were never mine to keep, But I loved you still, down oceans deep. And though you’ll never call me back, I carry you — in every crack. So if you hear a name someday, Like Petal, Song, or Runaway, Know it was me, still trying to cope, With a heart that breaks but clings to hope. _Ro Amaan.
