I Lost Self Awareness of You
I lost self awareness of you, Like losing the sky when I closed my eyes, You were there, but I forgot How much you meant, how much I knew. You whispered in my quiet thoughts, You held my hand when no one saw, But I got busy chasing things And left you standing by the door. You never shouted, never left, You waited while I looked away. Now that silence speaks so loud, I feel the price I had to pay. I miss the peace you used to bring, The way you made my cold heart sing. Now I sit with quiet tears, Wishing back those simple years. I lost self awareness of you, But still, I hope it’s not too late. Come back and fill my empty space, Bring me home. I’ll wait.
