I lost my way
I once wielded words with poetic might, A skill that dazzled, a heart alight. But love, I vowed to never know, My father's betrayal made my heart go slow. I transferred schools, with pen in hand, And met a boy, my rival, my command. Enemies we were, in academia's fray, Yet I admired his confidence, day by day. My pen bled words, in secret, for him alone, A heart concealed, with emotions overthrown. But he hurt me, and I conceded defeat, My heart, lost, my pen, a memory to repeat. Now, my words are silenced, my heart astray, For loving him, I lost my way.
