I learned to carry It All
I didn’t wake up one day and decide to be strong. I just looked around and realized no one else was coming. So I carried it. The worry, the weight, the I’m fine when I wasn’t. I learned to fix before I could feel. To smile when I was scared. To say “it’s handled” even when it was hurting me. People called it independence. They clapped. Said I was solid, grounded, but I was just tired. See, no one tells you that self-sufficiency is often just loneliness with good posture. I’m learning now that asking for help doesn’t mean I’m weak, it means I’m healing. That I can still be strong and still say, “Can you hold this with me?” Because maybe strength isn’t doing it all alone maybe it’s knowing you don’t have to anymore.
