I knew
In only a blink, no time left to think, your silhouette vanished. The glimmer of your hate; the glint of a blade; I stayed. Rooted in place, I knew your face, and still I remained. My heart knew, my thoughts grew— I was always aware. Caressed by your breeze, brought down to my knees— still… I stayed A thump in my spine The chill of your fist, a venomous twist, your hand on the grip— I said " I'm fine." I knew what was done, you thought you had won. and now... No longer bound— I don’t make a sound. I leave. and the beauty? You’ll never be free.
