I Hope You're Proud I'm angry that you left me. I know it wasn't your choice. Your body was tired, your soul was hurting, and God called you home so you could finally heal, so you could finally know peace. But knowing why doesn't make missing you hurt any less. The day you left, you took a piece of my heart with you. No matter how many days pass, that empty space still whispers your name. I'm angry that you don't get to see him. You don't get to watch your son grow into the incredible young man he's becoming. You don't get to hear his laugh, celebrate his victories, or wrap him in one of your hugs when life gets hard. You would be so proud of him. He smiles so easily. He makes me laugh on the days I think I can't. He's kind, he's strong, and somehow he carries pieces of you everywhere he goes. I know you'd see them too. There are happy days now. Days filled with laughter and memories we're making together. But even on those days, grief quietly walks beside me. Because you were our rock.
