I Hear You, Africa
I hear it, loud and clear, The clanging brass, drumming in my ear, The rhythm of the black blood, pulsing strong, I hear the aches of scorched bones, a sound that's wrong. The kaboom of foreign pimps rushes in, harsh and cold, But then I hear the gentle sound of water, stories untold, The whimsical sounds of children's laughter, joyful and free, I hear Africa, I hear you, a heartbeat resonating in me. I hear the whisper of hope, glimpse of light, A dawn breaking, where shadows take flight, Listening to the pulsating rhythm of the black blood's might, Gently, I hear her humming, a lullaby through the night. The songs of our heroes run, on the ancestral savannah's ground, Where the wind whispers secrets, and the trees stand profound. I hear Africa, I hear you, in every beat and every sound.
