I Hate my old name.
sometimes, in the middle of the night, I forget how to say my own name. and I even forget how to spell it sometimes. kids at my school like to prove that they know my name. and it isn't even funny. I hate substitute teachers because I have to tell them my real name. and they always look at me funny when I do. I hate the way that my family still calls me that name. even after I've told them countless times that it's not me. they never listen but I love my old name. the story behind it the reason I was given it. but that doesn't make it me. that isn't my name. WHAT DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND? THAT ISNT MY NAME IT NEVER WAS. YOU ARENT COOL FOR KNOWING IT. I hate my old name. I hate my old self. I hate you. I hate the reminders of her. I hate this world. thinking they can take away the voices of kids like me. just because we changed our names. just because we are comfortable in our skin. I hate this world. making it so I can't speak up. making it illegal to have a preference. I WILL NOT GO BACK IN THE CLOSET FOR SOME MAN WHO FEELS "UNCOMFORTABLE" BECAUSE I FINNALY KNOW MY NAME. I hate my old name.
