I guess it was always You
I put my cigarette down for you when I saw you outside our favourite place, but I wasn't there with you, I guess that's my bad, because I closed out my heart from you. Hoping you'd leave if you knew. A messy space, a dirty floor and some cardboard too, It was another filthy broke guy room, You knocked at my door with your smile, only then, I knew, this place needed a groom, So I kept you out, oh whew!!! hoping maybe you'd wait a few, But you left, and only then I knew, No one could love a heart broken like you. And then I found God, thank you!!! Yet He still brought me back to you.
