I fear this beast inside me
I fear this beast inside me will break the cuffs and run amok, I fear that I, confined from this kindness, will smash my dreams and break their hearts, For my heart is weary and my soul is old but this beast is young and wild. This face that you see and the smile that it gives is nothing but a mask; let my beast sleep inside, Let my beast gone tame from ravaging wild, let it sink in its deep slumber, Let it not be awaken and set my heart aflame, for I fear my life will change, and I fear I can leave all that I love, I could do whatever I want, and not think of you my love, for I know I can, but then, let not the beast wake up. ©reddragonfly
