I failed, I failed
I failed as a lover, I failed as a son, In the shadow of trust, my words came undone. I failed as a friend, as the one they could trust, My promises crumbled, my heart turned to dust. I gave them my all, yet it wasn’t enough, I broke under burdens, I wasn’t that tough. I failed in my efforts, my intentions went wrong, What felt like togetherness was selfish all along. I gave and I gave, till there was nothing of me, Yet I became a burden, not what they'd need me to be. I failed in their eyes; I failed in my soul, The weight of my failures has taken its toll. I will never be near, my distance I’ll keep, I won’t let my shadows where the light should seep. I curtain the joy, let sorrow take flight, Everywhere I go, I bring tears to the light. Now here I stand, with my spirit so low, Wondering how to survive, how to grow. How can I rise when I’ve sunk so deep? How can I talk when my words make them weep? How can I love with a heart torn in two? How can I stand when my strength feels untrue? I failed in so much, in what I should be, Now I feel lost, not knowing me. I'm sorry for everything....
