I CHOOSE MYSELF
“I Choose Myself” I helped with a heart that was honest and true, Not for the world, just because I knew. I lifted their smiles, I stood in the rain, While hiding my own unspoken pain. They laughed when I gave, they rose when I stayed, But blamed me the moment a question was made. My kindness was used, then turned into shame, My feelings were reduced to a joke in a game. They wore pretty masks, put on a fine show, Insulting me softly, so none would know. They called me an overthinker, weak and unwise, While playing with hearts for curious eyes. Emotions became just comedy lines, While breaking my soul in quiet designs. It broke me slowly, not loud, not seen, Just cracks in a heart once calm and clean. So I chose isolation, not hatred or fear, But peace in my silence, away from the smear. Alone I felt lighter, alone I felt free, For the first time, I chose being me. No need for their drama, their pity, their lies, I walk with my truth, no mask, no disguise. I trust in the Almighty, I move and I grow, With faith as my light wherever I go. When trust once is broken, it cannot be cured, That bond is not mended, the lesson is learned. I don’t seek revenge, I don’t explain— Walking away!
