I cast: emotional labor
I think I'm truly talented, you see, like a magician: dipping my fingers down your throat and drawing out the shadows with a waving hand, coaxing them into my arms. You all look, the crowd, and laugh: wonder, oh, she is! The demons, defeated!, and demand encore! oh, an encore! I bow, but truthfully, these shadow- demons lurk in the recess of my spine, playing melody along my bones, oh, like the haunting of moon in spring showers, like the melting of stars into the black, like the rule of nature, the shadow-demons beckon for me to laugh a little louder, or cry harder, just for them, just for you. So deep, sick ravages my vertebrae. My magic was always here: the echo you beat into it, again, encore! oh, an encore! Sure, sweetheart, I'll play you again, just open your mouth and count to 10.
