I carved into a tree
I was taking a stroll peacefully. Enjoying nature's melody. When I came across a tall, wide tree. This one was different from the ones I've seen. It was bare with no leaves. I decided to carve my love's name into thee. And was set back when the words started to bleed. “Oh, Dear child why do you hurt me?” Are my ears deceiving me a talking tree. “Oh great tree, please forgive my miss deeds. For I did not know you would speak.” He, “I see child, but I must know now what did you carve into me for the world to see?” Me, *I carved into your bark Emily.” He, “And who is she?” Me, “The girl of my dreams.” He, “Are you Pete?” Me, “My brother is Pete. I am Steve.” He, “that's a shame really.” Me, “Why would that be?” He, “She carved his name into me last week.” © Deoneloko
