I Can't Wait
The clock hand inches, slow and full of spite, Each tick a hammer on my yearning soul. The sun descends, surrendering to night, While I am held beyond your sweet control. I see your face, a promise in the gloom, And feel the warmth of breezes on my skin, Imagining release from silent tomb, A victory love's tender hands will win. My lips are dry, anticipating dew, The gentle pressure that will make me swoon, A silent plea escapes, "I long for you," Beneath the silver light of rising moon. Oh, hurry now, and bridge this empty space, I can't wait for your kiss, your warm embrace.
