I am craving a buzz!!
Give me a drink— Let it burn, let it sting, Let me drown in something stronger Than the ache you left in me. At least then, I could say I wasn’t in my senses, That my sorrow spilled over Because I was intoxicated— Not because I’m breaking. I suffer, and the reason is you. Unaware, untouched by this storm, And I can’t even let the wind Carry the weight of your name, Can’t throw my pain at your feet, Can’t make you feel a single drop of it. I want to cry—loudly, recklessly, Let the walls tremble with my agony, Let the night echo with my grief, But my voice is shackled, And silence is all that escapes me. If only I could drink away the memories, Forget the weight of your absence, Let this aching heart unwrite its story, Let the nights swallow me whole. I need a hug, Need warmth to melt this cold, Need arms to hold me together Before I shatter completely. God, have mercy on me— I am drowning, And I’ve lost the will to swim.
