Hunter's Moon
Too many memories still in my head Of that October moon I soulfully dread. We call it the night of the Hunter's Moon, Orangish and large; like hell at high noon. The stolid night was dreadfully quiet. Seemed like once in for-never so bright. It was a night to forgive and forget. A night to make love without regret. The time to attain that unreachable goal. A brief time to soothe the unconsolable soul. We loved in the light of that incredible moon. The night slipped away, the morning came soon. You left me alone in dawn's early morning: Leaving no message; gone without warning. I thought I would never see you again: But tonight, here you are; one year it's been. I see your blue eyes under this luminent light. You approach me too close; this can't be right. The bright Hunter's Moon almost bright as day, Shows me you're the hunter and I am the prey.
