Humanity slaves
In shadows deep, where demons lurk unseen, I roamed the night, my heart devoid of light, For love had fled, leaving behind a scene Of shattered dreams and anguish taking flight. I met a maiden fair, with eyes so bright, Her smile a beacon in my darkened soul, But I, a wretched soul lost to the night, Could not accept the love that made me whole. I pushed her away, blocked her from my sight, To quell the yearning in my broken heart, For to love her would mean to feel the light, And I, in darkness, feared the cruel part. So I turned off my humanity, And blocked her out to set my spirit free.
