While thou seekest thy peace (εἰρήνη – eirēnē) and thy joy (εὐδαιμονία – eudaimonia), Why dost thou pass thy sorrows unto another? Shall thy spring bloom in borrowed sun, Whilst tears (δάκρυα – dakrya) flow from eyes not thine? O heart, find not thy freedom in another's chain, Nor let thy laughter echo through borrowed pain.
