Human core
In the darkness of my mind A shadow creeps, unkind. It whispers of pain and sorrow, Of a bleak and joyless tomorrow I feel its icy grip take hold, As I shiver, alone and cold The sunshine seems so far away, A distant memory, a brighter day. Love and happiness are but a dream, In this nightmarish, endless stream. Death looms ever closer still, A grim and final end to my will. Yet still, I strive to find the light, To break free from this endless night. To feel the warmth of the sun once more, And banish this darkness to its core.
