How My Husband Saved Me
When we met everyone said he married up. I would argue the point, knowing my broken parts and lost mind. Everyone can see a beautiful face, but only a real man can love a girl through years of damage and destruction. Cuts and scars that have 100's of attacked words to back them up rolling around my mind everyday. How could anyone help someone so sure they are not worthy of any kind of sweetness? No, I married up. I usher you, I married up. One of my favorite songs says, "He found the light in me I couldn't find." All my love has ever asked of me is to myself. What does that mean? That can't be right. I'm not someone that could be adored. Not if you see all of me. Not if you look at the dark side of my heart where all my ugly resides. But this man of mine has, and I believe always will love all of me. Mess and all. Craziness that attacks his love and patience. Lost insecurities that question his ever motive. But his love does not stop or quit. He continues to show me that I am who he loves. I am enough. I am the girl of his dreams. Yes, I married up because no one could ever love me like this man; and I will look forward to every day I get with him.
