HOW COULD HE
In sorrow's grasp, I knelt and prayed, Begged and pleaded, heart dismayed. For you, my love, had gone away, Leaving me lost, in disarray. How could life continue its course, Without you, my steadfast force? Beseeching God, my soul did cry, Why take the one who kept me high? But in the depths of my despair, I found strength, though unaware. For love, though gone, can still reside, Within the chambers of my stride. In memories treasured, love's embrace, I find solace, a saving grace. Though you have left this mortal plane, Our bond endures, forever reigns. So, I'll gather remnants of our past, Hold them close, where love will last. Though tears may fall, my heart won't break, For love transcends, its light awake. Though you are gone, I'll carry on, In your absence, I'll grow strong. For love can't be confined by time, Its essence lingers, so sublime. So, God did not take you away, But granted love, that still holds sway. In my heart's chambers, you reside, Forever cherished, by my side. Romique
