Housewives: Beneath the smile
She wakes up before sunrise, While others sleep blissfully, Tending to the needs of others, Toiling hard daily. Her hands work like a machine, Scrubbing, stirring, mending, Yet not a single soul cares, To ask how she feels. They call it her duty, As if love is measured by, Spotless floors and ironed clothes. Not knowing that she herself, Once used to be a girl, With big dreams and hopes, To accomplish her every goal. She feels exhausted, Day and night, Life filled with boredom, And lacking in delight. She longs to light a path, So her daughters can grow and thrive, And wake up each morning, To chase their dreams and shine.
