Horsefly Season
I feel a pinch every other moment It's horsefly season He makes me stand at attention Unable to move While they all feed on my life Sometimes, I think of laying down on a road Next to a flower field While all the cars drive Over my mangling body I watch as she runs down the road Let me back on the field So I'll feel my veins bulge He knows I'll always stand still 'Cause I wanna be one so bad Speak in tongues Though I want you to know All our grass is dead But a pedophiles is green 'Cause I let him I'll feel the pinch and disease As they enter my bloodstream The peaches have fungus I wonder where I'd be If I stayed down south The rock is crooked And I can't fit But it's where I'll belong I'll fall into the trees Hear the snakes rattle and hiss You know I just want to be their friend I'd sleep in my bed But it's all dirty now My baby follows far behind She waits by the door panting I remember when she was close And tiny It smells like shit And I can hear you watching me As the beetles decay
