Hope
I traveled up a mountain the trail was bare thin trees of pine and green enough to attract my stare a cliff lays before me overlooking the valley below deep in evergreen, so vast and low the sky is gray, but I know what comes next I wait for the sun and take the time to rest when light brings the day, I sit and wait blood bleeds above as if to show my fate crimson and apricot gold and peach the sun shows its wrath, mercy and love with no speech the valley bursts into flame my eyes water like rain this world I live in is too beautiful to stain
