Honeymoon
Originally posted 13 April 2023. I put pen to the page Because my tears had all run dry I had tried to scream and shout But the words were all denied I sought to name the feeling But betrayed felt too polite I dug the nails into my palm Because your hand wasn't in mine I stifled at the ache You still looked like 'my guy' I tried to justify it Because of our children who relied I had known the other you We had met once before I could exhale through the feeling then You still came knocking at my door I put pen to the page You sought to prove me wrong I collect up all my pieces Because this story must go on.
