Hometown at night
a choir of crickets surrounds the house a symphony of frogs and cicadas. Music playing at the neighbor's house, making merry as I watch them on my veranda Nanay's garden is a sight at night A wild beauty glistening after the rain the wind caressing the guava leaves as if inviting to come out and play As I drink the sight, the feeling, the sounds, A peaceful bliss overcomes my very being This moment caught yet slipped, cannot be bound a simple instant, cherished, yet so fleeting.
