Homeless Home
Lost souls wandering the streets, Seeking solace where they can find it. Forsaken by society, Living in the shadows of the privileged. Their home is the cold concrete, Their bed a discarded cardboard box. They huddle together for warmth, Their only possessions in a tattered backpack. No address to call their own, No place to lay their head at night. The city moves around them, But they are invisible to most. They are the forgotten ones, The ones society has left behind. But they have dreams and hopes, Just like anyone else. They long for a place to belong, A place where they are seen and heard. But for now, they are just ghosts, Drifting through the city streets. In the shadows of the city streets, Lies a place where no one meets A home without walls or a roof, Where dreams are shattered, without proof The streets are cold, the nights are long, Yet in their hearts, they stay strong We pass them by without a second glance, Unwilling or unable to see their humanity. But underneath the dirt and grime, Beats a heart just like ours. So let us not turn away, Let us reach out a hand in kindness. For the homeless home is a heart That yearns to be loved and accepted.
