Home Sweet Home π
I dream of the day I finally make it out of my home I'll go far, far away Where I won't be haunted, not a single day. Growing up I did have a roof over my head Enough food and decent clothes "The staple for a child's growth" A decent life, simple and fair I was taught of a God as soon as I spoke Said he'd punish if I don't bow, Kneel, bend and praise his name Sounded more like a villian to my naive heart. Yet I obeyed, went to church Worshiped and praised. Swallowed their poison, again and again. At home, I walked on my tiptoes Yet still criticized for every breath, Every bite of food I ate Blame haunted my ways. "Girls don't step out after dark" my father said- before he slapped my face red. "I pity the boy you'll marry one day. How unlucky can one be? " Said my sweet, sweet mother. Poison dripped from every word For my home was built from poison oak Strong and sturdy to the outside Only I know of the ghosts that haunts these halls. So I dream of the day I finally make it out of my home I'll go far, far away Where I won't be haunted, not a single day!
