Hollow Mask
I wear this mask, it's cold and bare, A hollow face that hides despair. They see the smile, they hear my lies, But none can see the soul that dies. Each step I take is heavy now, A weary mind, but still I bow. They pull me back when I’m too near The edge I crave, the quiet, the clear. I’m tired of trying, of feeling pain, The battle lost with nothing gained. A shadow of what once was me, Now drowning in a silent sea. I’m hurting deep, though they don’t know, This mask, it hides the scars I show. They hold me close, but I’m not whole, I’ve lost the fight, I’ve lost control. I want to go, to drift away, To find a place where I can lay This burden down, this weight I bear, And vanish like I was never there. if your still waiting to save me I am afraid I have already lost the battle I have no reason to continue because the sorrow is too much now can you be happy that you have destroyed me I am no longer happy you have won leave me alone it's all I ask let this ghost fade away.
