"Holding On"
I wake up each day with a weight in my chest, Trying my hardest, giving my best. But the world feels heavy, the nights feel long, And even the brave can’t always be strong. I smile through the pain, I laugh through the fear, But inside I’m screaming for someone to hear. I’m tired of hurting, of hiding the ache, Of giving and giving with nothing to take. Yet through all the darkness, one light still shines— A small hand in mine, those bright eyes in line. They don’t see my cracks, they just see love, And that’s what keeps me from giving up. I can’t let go, not while they need me, Even when life tries so hard to bleed me. So I hold on tighter, breathe through the pain, Because for them, I must remain. I may be tired, broken, and bruised, But I’ll keep fighting, I’ll never refuse. Not for the world, but for the one who looks up— I’ll keep pouring hope in their tiny cup.
