hm
I never thought the day would come, Where hate would grip my heart, Where unforgiving shadows loom, And kindness would depart. I never thought I'd seek to harm, With words or actions cold, But life reveals its hidden charm, In stories yet untold. You walk this path, so kind, so pure, Yet self-interest prevails, No matter how your heart endures, It’s what they can unveil. The only love I felt, sincere, Came from a toxic friend, I knew she loved me, far and near, But that, too, met its end. Her truth, too much for me to bear, Her nature, wild and vast, So I closed the door on care, And left that love in the past. They say love leads the mind to stray, To madness in disguise, So I shut down the need for sway, In closeness or in ties. Now I walk with lighter feet, Though once I judged so deep, I understand the pain complete, As life hands me its keep.
