His Shadows (Part One)
He shadows what is when it wades through a closed door Even when all is had and what he seeks is much more Than the nothing in his heart pocket and into it's center core Still he digs, he cuts deeper, to feel for what's in store Is beyond any belief, or page, or any million minds times four His life is a noose tied with a slipknot He knows answers all religions think they've got A psychosis, a washed brain, an ignorance that they've bought His enlightened eyes blind, reality is never sought Just flowing through life, never getting to know his cancer Not once thinking that he's never known the answer Or the shrouded blackened emptiness he has there Inside his holey heart, a pain no man should bear That could cut through a thousand or a million mile stare Upon the back of a neck stands the hair One couldn't imagine, his shoes they wouldn't wear They're much too small, too much need for care To be with the people they love, no matter where I believe that's the only answer we need To produce the strand of thread to sew the seed Each one has the right to forfeit his own With these actions, his hand retrieves a stone Within a silence this stone is repeatedly thrown The lacerations run deeper, even deeper than bone
