High on Agony
I stay high on agony’s breath, Bitter smoke of a living death. The needle of grief pierces deep in my vein, And I ride the waves of endless pain. Flesh and bone, a prison of woe, Twisted tendrils where the sorrow grows. The heart beats slow, a hollow drum, To keep alive, I must become numb. Eyes wide open, but I see no light, Only the shadows that poison the night. The weight of despair is crushing my soul, But it’s the only thing that keeps me whole. I drown in anguish, my body a tomb, While silent screams fill every room. Each breath I take is a slow decay, But it’s the cost I pay to stay. I wear the scars, invisible, grotesque, A map of torment I cannot suppress. To live is to suffer, to wither, to burn, Yet still, I endure, with no hope of return. So I stay high on this bitter decay, A grim intoxication that won’t fade away. For in the pain, I find my place, A grotesque dance in a hollow space.
