Hidden Scars
We wear our smiles like fragile glass, Hiding cracks from those who pass. Behind the laughs, the jokes we tell, Are stories only silence knows well. We carry pain no one can see, A quiet battle, endlessly. Some days we break, some days we mend, Searching for a heart to comprehend. The nights feel heavy, long, and cold, With memories that won’t unfold. We long for love, for someone near, To hold us close and calm our fear. But here’s the truth, both raw and true, We’re more alike than we ever knew. In every scar, in every tear, Lies strength that grows from facing fear. So if you feel lost, or worn, or small, Remember, you’re not alone at all. Beneath the surface, just like me, We’re all just souls trying to be free.
