Hidden emotion
I buried my tears beneath a smile, Pretending I had healed all the while. The shadows learned my every name, And silence slowly fed the flame. My heart became a locked-up room, Filled with echoes, dust, and gloom. No one saw the cracks I wore, Because I hid them more and more. The night would hold the words I'd keep, The ones too heavy, dark, and deep. Yet somewhere past the endless gray, I still believe there'll come a day.
