Here I Fall
Drenched, exhausted, my undoing is complete, on my knees I rest at your feet. Many miles I've trudged. Through the mire. Through the mud. My clothes are tattered; my skin is all torn. I have fought through thick forests filled with great thorns I've drowned in great depths and walked through them blind. I've yearned for death, but death was always denied. I heard long ago of your glorious light I searched far and I searched wide, now I can see, you are always here -- by my side. Here I fall, in spite of the pain, in spite of the fear, basking in your grace, molded by your mercy. Your love encompasses my soul, suddenly these chains are no more. You've saved me from my suffering, from my sin. My body, and my mind are renewed, Now, all I want is to serve you. It is dark and evil everywhere that I look. There is no peace, no rest, not even in a nook. I will remain with you in this light, in this safety and within your sight. Humbly in gratefulness I rest, knowing that you've given me safety in your faithfulness. Watch me closely and guide my steps. by your grace and love I am made new.
