Her Soul
And when I saw her, I beheld her beauty, but it was not the garments she wore, nor the fragrance she carried, nor the way her hair was arranged, not even the grace of her form. It was her eyes, as blue as the ocean, yet it was not the ocean I beheld. It was the sky I saw but the sky was not blue, it was black, and in the distance, stars began to shimmer, first a hundred, then a thousand, then a million, and ever more and then I understood, it was her soul I was gazing upon, and it was her soul with which I fell in love.
