Her Smile
Once upon a time she smiled A smile so bright, a smile so pure A smile full of innocence A smile from inside out Full of joy she felt Deep within She smiled whole heartedly Completely Naive Until one Day Then it happened What happened you wonder Day by day, her smile lossed it's innocence Her smile no longer whole hearted or pure Life took its toll on her In ways she just wasn't ready for No longer was she naive No longer was she innocent or pure Life did a number on her That she couldn't ignore Life's pain turned her smile Into a mask, A shield for the world Her smile now hides her pain Her smile now hides her turmoil Her smile now masks her fears Her smile now has lost its value Deep within she hopes She prays one day Her smile that was so innocent Whole hearted and pure Will grace her face once again But until then her smile is a mask To keep prying eyes and minds away Her smile now is her shield Her defense mechanism Against a world that stole The purity of her Joy Away SST
