HER
By Elmer She stares at the mirror of a cracked cathedral of shame, Where her smile shivers like a glass kissed by blame. A whisper haunts the room, "You’ll never be enough," The wind outside mimics her voice, cold, rough. Her tears don’t fall, they sink, like anchors in skin, While the shadows applaud the silence within. She walks through days like autumn leaves in the wind, Each step, unsure, each breath a hope pinned. They say, “cheer up,” but the words never land Just empty balloons in a trembling hand. She dreams of love like a myth long erased, Her heartbeat echoes through time and space. "I am a flaw," she tells the moon’s face, "A whisper of a woman, lost in disgrace." The stars blink back, too tired to speak, While night weaves its sorrow into her cheek. In a room full of voices, she’s just a ghost, The loneliest soul who needed you most. Her skin holds stories the world never reads, Each scar a stanza her soul softly bled. She dances with silence, her only friend, Praying for storms that might help her end. The clock ticks grief in rhythmic regret, And hope is a name she’s never met.
