Heartache
To you, who will never read this, I've set myself up for heartache. I knew my efforts were in vain. We both know how deep it runs, and all I will get is pain. I've set myself up for failure. When I see you in his embrace, I've never felt so happy that you can't see my face. Because if you could see beyond my mask, and if you saw my eyes, You'd see the grief I tried to hide behind the laughs and sighs. I know you're the right one for me, and I know you'll never be mine. I see how much he loves you, so I guess I shouldn't mind. You tell me that you see me, tell me you're interested too. But everyone around can see, that he's the man for you. You don't mean to lead me on, but we both know who you'll choose. So when you pick which heart to break, I'm already prepared to lose. Even still, I'll stay with you. I will be your guide. I promise I'll never leave you, forever by your side. You know it, but I can't tell you, so I'll just put it here. I love you and will love you year after year. Eternally yours, Apollo
