Heart in exile
In the darkness of my soul, I confess Regret and longing, forever I'll repress Our breakup, a wound that won't heal My heart, a heavy burden, I cannot conceal I miss your touch, your love, your gentle grace Yearning to hold you, to feel your warm embrace But pride, a curse, that clouds my mind A fear of pain, that I cannot unwind I want to kiss you, to feel your love anew But fear of hurt, my heart doth impede Loneliness, a refuge, a place to hide The only solace, from the pain I cannot divide I know I'm not the only one, who's felt your warmth And that thought, a dagger, that cuts and scars Yet, I cannot help, but yearn for your love A bittersweet ache, that I cannot rise above.
