Heart Ease

A year has passed, and the pain begins to wane, Though lingering heartache falls like a soft, gentle rain. Their heart felt sick, longing for what was lost, But the other has found a haven, whatever the cost. Time moves on, and their shared past now sleeps, Yet even in tears, a quiet promise keeps. The other is etched in their heart, a chapter closed with grace, Though their paths diverge, leaving not a trace Of bitterness or sorrow, just time and space. When they speak now, a peaceful calm is found, The years have passed, leaving friendship unbound. They pray for the other's future, a career bright and bold, May solace and friendship, their story unfold, Filling the spaces where emptiness showed.
