Healing out loud
For months I carried weights unseen, Living in the spaces where they had been. A heavy fog within my restless head, Replaying every bitter word they said, An open wound that refused to close, Feeding on the doubts that they chose to impose. I asked myself what had I done wrong, Humming a broken, sad song. But silence brought a steady, grace, As time began to clear the crowded space. The grip of their approval starts to fail, As I step outside their stormy gaze. The wounds are closing, the air is clean, No longer bound to what has been. Detached at last, the mind is still, Climbing back up this steep, quiet hill, It hurts to leave the familiar past behind, But to save the remnants of a fractured mind, It's better to heal, put the bad past behind.
